Welcome to PaRD's Second Newsletter in 2018!
Dear Reader,

a lot has happened in PaRD since our last newsletter. As always, our members were busy implementing projects, convening meetings and workshops, organizing upcoming events, and publishing documents. You will read on only a few examples of these in this newsletter.

But in addition to these tremendous efforts undertaken by each and every of our members, PaRD itself has changed: First and foremost, FBOs and CSOs are no longer PaRD partners, but are now members as well, equal in rights and duties to governmental and intergovernmental entities. To read more on these changes, including the new governance structure and the newly-elected steering-group, please read the first article below.
In addition, we are rebuilding our website. While you may see some changes already now and in the coming weeks, we will send out an update once the work is finalized. If you have any information to be featured on our website or in the upcoming newsletter, or if you want to share your suggestions with us, please do not hesitate to email us at

With kind regards,

Ulrich Nitschke
Head of the PaRD secretariat
